It has established itself as a key player in raising environmental awareness through its high-quality exhibits, conservation and education programmes.
The Aquarium is rapidly gaining recognition as a leading environmental education centre in South Africa. It is also respected internationally for its high standards of animal husbandry and the expertise of its staff in collecting and transporting live animals.
The Two Oceans Aquarium Trust is a private body carrying on business as a public aquarium with emphasis on education and entertainment.
Events
The Aquarium is offering an exceptional “winter warmer” functions package between 1 June and 31 August 2014. This special package includes venue, catering, staff costs and decor (excluding beverages) at R299 excl VAT per person. Invite your guests to explore a watery world of wonder and enchantment.
Dinners are hosted in front of the I&J Predator Exhibit or the Atlantic Ocean Gallery.
The magnificent I&J Predator Exhibit opens up a window into a world filled with ragged-tooth sharks, turtles, rays and other shoaling fish. Dinner guests will have a constant source of conversational topics as sharks slowly make their way past the exhibit’s 11m-long main window.
They will also see the underwater elegance of the rays, the shimmering, silvery fish, and perhaps even be graced by the presence of the sea turtle that is also housed in this exhibit. Not a moment will pass without a beautiful scene unfolding before them.
The Atlantic Ocean Gallery is home to more than 20 exhibits, from seahorses to spider crabs and lobsters.
We require a minimum of 50 people per booking in the I&J Predator Exhibit, and 20 people per booking in the Atlantic Ocean Gallery. (Please note that the Atlantic Ocean Gallery will be closed in June, for construction work.)
The Aquarium’s in-house restaurant, Shoreline Café, provides the catering for all our functions and will ensure that your guests not only have a delicious meal to enjoy, but they will also be able to enjoy it with a clear conscience. Shoreline Café serves only Marine Stewardship Council-accredited and Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative-endorsed seafood.
We are also running a winter conference package with dinner, which includes catering, venue, waiters and access to the Aquarium for the day. Only valid from June to August 08h00 – 17h00 . This conference package is R300 excluding VAT.
