Confident Leaders Take All

It is important in corporate team building to have an efficient leader. Leaders in an organisation commonly have a complete sense of self awareness, understanding how their actions, words and decisions will affect their team members. In addition to this, they have usually developed a great deal of self-esteem presenting personal confidence and trust in their abilities.

When self-awareness and self-esteem are well developed, the leader is seen as reliable in his approach, in control of himself and others, competent and capable in his dealings with both business and his staff. His fellow team members ask for his advice and will trust his decision making.

A well-developed self-esteem is key to leaders’ objectives towards effective company team building inside his organisation. The workplace could be compared to a sporting situation, with teams all trying to achieve success.

An effective team leader in the work place recognises that all employees are on the same team and that success depends on them all working together to complete a project rather than competing with each other. Not all competition is damaging and competition can be fun, presenting an opportunity to learn new things and build relationships but it should not focus on the ultimate goal – the success of the organisation. It should be about less important goals, goals designed to stretch imagination and innovation. Effective company team building uses games and challenges to improve self-awareness, build self- esteem and create trust amongst team members. Effective company team building centres on the fun of working together whilst achieving success.

Successful team leaders seem to develop this togetherness seamlessly, but it usually stems from their own self-awareness and self-esteem which emanates a confidence, immediately felt by the team members giving them a confidence of their own that their contribution to the project is important and valued.
